Ammunition
I know I don't need to change any of the minds that read this blog, so this post is just to give one and all some ammunition for the next time someone says to you, "Oh yeah, well what have you got against John McCain? I mean really, can you give me one concrete reason?"
First this, then: yep.

Ashcroft claims that US Waterboarding is Different from Japanese Waterboarding
The old boy gets a little riled up, claiming in his defense that US operative merely "poured" water over the faces of bound, prone prisoners, whilst the Japanese "forced" water into their mouths.

Clemson track coach deposited meet funds into a personal account
By Larry Williams (Contact)The Post and CourierSaturday, April 19, 2008
CLEMSON — The State Law Enforcement Division says Clemson track coach Bob Pollock deposited money from track meets into a personal bank account.
Although an investigation by SLED found that Pollock and assistant coach Charles Foster collected more than $27,000 worth of track fees that did not go to the university, 13th circuit solicitor Robert Ariail recommended that no charges be filed in the case — partly because the two coaches have already paid restitution to Clemson.
In May of 2007, SLED began an investigation involving a breach of trust at the behest of Clemson's university police department. According to SLED's report, Pollock and Foster conducted track meets and collected entry fees from high school and college athletes who were unaffiliated with Clemson.
Four months earlier, assistant women's track coach Glenn McAtee informed Clemson's internal auditing department that he had observed Pollock initiate "a pattern of systematic fraud and embezzlement" of athletic department funds, SLED said.
An audit by Clemson found that, from January 2004 to December 2006, a total of $27,397 worth of fees went unaccounted for — $24,872 from high school events and $2,525 from college events. According to SLED, Pollock told a superior that a previous administrator orally approved of his putting funds into a personal account, explaining that the duties related to running track meets were "extraordinary and tedious."
The report said that in February of 2007, Pollock and Foster agreed to a reduction of their salaries to reimburse Clemson for the missing funds. Athletic director Terry Don Phillips could not be reached Friday evening, but he has said he will evaluate the status of both coaches after the season.
SLED turned the case over to Ariail in July, according to the documents. Ariail said charges were not warranted because Clemson "disciplined and punished" Pollock and Foster.
The report said both coaches refused to provide statements to SLED during the investigation.
Ariail "strongly" suggested Clemson "review, clarify, amend and strengthen the existing policies that allowed this serious situation to develop."
Pollock and Foster were at the ACC outdoor championships in Atlanta on Friday and could not be reached for comment.

Also, wanna know what Star Trek XI is supposed to be about? The article is a big time spoiler, but supposedly a rumor, so maybe it's just nonsense. In either case, fuck it - it's the Trek, not the Wars.

All Rebels Must Die!
Guys I plead with you. Star Wars Galaxies is the freaking coolest game I've ever seen. The possibilities are limitless and too involved for me to describe here. But if you've seen it in the past, give it another chance. They have space combat now in addition to ground stuff. Its even got the magical wind resistance space combat style of star wars. I'm flying a tie fighter right now. And I'm a bounty hunter. But you can be a jedi or musician or smuggler or lots of other stuff. Anything you can do in star wars is in this freaking game.
Anyways, theres a free 14 day trial. Me and about 3 other guys from work are wrecking shop on this thing. The download takes a while I must warn you. But, do yourself a favor and give it a whirl. Trust me on this one. You'll want to join on the "radiant" server. The game calls the servers "galaxies" fyi. Thats where we are. Once you get set up let me know and I'll help you out with the tutorial and get you going. You won't believe how much there is to this game. Whatever you do, don't be a rebel. They suck and theres like a ton of them. My buds and I are all emperial pilots. But you can even go the privateer route if you want.
Anybody thats wants to give this shit a shot, let me know. But trust me, you want to do this. This is where its at if you're a gamer. Join the Legion of Doom NOW!

Guys, I kid you not
This is a a real, recent quote from Tommy Bowden. I couldn't even make stuff like this up. Click on the link to clempson's scout page if you need proof. EDSBS.com is having a lot of fun with this one.
On freshman Kyle Parker, who is having a really good season with the baseball team:
"I’ve watched him practice and I’ve watched him play (baseball). He’s really good looking. If I was a girl, I’d be very interested in him. He wears those tight pants. When you wear loose stuff, you can’t tell the definition of a guy’s body. In baseball, everything is tight and you can see that he's very well put together."
Enjoy

Brooke is Pregnant
Gentlemen,
My army of tiny white Jedi's has penetrated Brooke's inner defenses. The Kwisartz Haderach has officially been conceived. We got visual confirmation from the ultrasound last week and it turns out that she is 6 weeks pregnant. I must say that I'll never be the same now that I have seen my wife's vagina from the inside out. It'll blow your freaking mind.
I thought a blog post would be the best way to make this announcement. That way I can tell everybody at once.
The one who brings balance to the universe is due around thanksgiving. I'm up for any name suggestions. Of course Brooke hates all of my ideas for names. But his middle name WILL be Eugene of course!

RIP Mr. Fry Daddy, RIP
Alright boys and girls, queue the half staff flag and the sad, slow trumpet that brings tears and gives chills to any good man at every military funereal. Because today, my friends…today is a sad, sad day. Today we have lost a dear friend. I’ll start from the beginning.
So things are as they normally are, at the casa de B, even up to the point where someone cries out, “hey, we should deep fry something.” I had a beer in hand, a smile on my face, and one of those schoolboy anxieties like you would not believe. Things were great, really great, you know? And then it happened.
We should do's were flying in from all directions in true surround sound and the new ideas for the ultimate homemade snack were at an all time high. It was a beautiful moment. And then it happened. I slide the plug fearlessly into the outlet and right away I knew something was wrong. Fry Daddy was not responding. A feeling came over me that I have not felt since the first Christmas without Santa. Nothing could be worse. I started thinking of all the good times we shared over the last several months and how much it has taught me about myself. “Where do I go from here” I ask myself. How will I sleep tonight?
So I ask of you, my brothers and sisters, to please keep me in your thoughts over the next few days as this is sure to be a hard time. I am sure that with time I will find a way to recover from the void that is now left in my soul. And for those of you wondering where you can make your donations at such a difficult time please send check or money order to www.frymedaddy.com.

I've Been to the Mountaintop
On April 3rd, 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "Mountaintop" speech (Audio at American Rhetoric) to a crowd in Memphis, Tennessee. At the climax, he addressed concerns about his possible assassination. The next day, he was killed while standing on a balcony at the Lorraine Motel.
That evening, in Indianapolis, Robert Kennedy gave a speech informing attendees at a political rally of the event. While other American cities were engulfed with violence following the assassination, Indianapolis remained calm, a fact often credited to Kennedy's eloquent and sensitive remarks.
