Count me in. I am sure that I can get some time off, whatever it is that I end up doing.

It will be cold in the mountains that time of year; we need to make sure that we have the proper gear. If you think that you don't have the right gear, make purchasing some new stuff a priority over the next few months (good winter camping clothing isn't all that expensive).

I'm in as well, my suggestion would be somewhere close to some mineral deposits, we should try to pan some gold.

Dude, I still have not fallen back to sleep. Thanks a ton. I'm down, however, I think we should sleep in tents that time of year and perhaps sleep close to the car so we have plenty of firewood.

B,

Tents might be a fine idea, since they add ~10 degrees to your warmth. I am a bit opposed to car camping, for what that is worth. With enough good gear and some knives, hatches, et c., we should be fine.

Dress in layers and all will be tip-top without a constant ranging fire. Good thermals, then something like fleece or down, and then something to keep the water out. Wearing all of that, a fire's main purpose is entertainment.
