Telecom Immunity Update

Harry Reid has announced that he will be moving the Senate Intelligence Committee's version of the FISA bill to the floor of the Senate. This bill contains provisions for immunity for telecommunications companies that aided the government in warrantless surveillance. Reid has acted in this manner despite a hold placed on the bill by Senator Chris Dodd - a somewhat unprecedented move.

Fuck Harry Reid.

As Glenn Greenwald notes (second link ), Harry Reid has pulled the FISA bill proposed by the Intelligence Committee from the floor. The willingness of Chris Dodd to filibuster may have played a role.
