Turn an old XBox controller into a PC gamepad

I just finished trying this. It took 20 minutes, and seems to work well.

    i didnt solder and did the work pretty fast, and i get a "power surge on usb port" when i plug it in.....im tryin to fix this now

    I didn't solder either. That is odd. Did you tape up the individual wires, and leave the yellow unconnected?
